Coordinating capacity and maintaining the flow of patients both into and out of the largest single floor Critical Care unit in Europe, at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. I work closely with the Clinical Site Team, Divisional managers, Theaters and Emegancy services as the first point of contact for capacity issues across Critical Care units. I work closely with Critical Care Senior Nurses, Matrons, Consultants as well as Trust Senior Management to make informed decisions about patient flow relating to planned and unplanned referrals, discharges and transfers of patients across the region.

As the former President I was asked to stay on committee during my Masters and help the current President build valuable relationships with other societies within our School, College, University and externally.

I have currently been elected President of the University of Birmingham Economics society, the second largest academic society on campus. I lead a passionate and dedicated committee of 15 and have a membership of approximately 1200 students. I have introduced major reforms to enhance our effectiveness and to insure the societies continued success well after my tenure. My main roles consist of drafting initiatives in our Careers, Academic and Socials departments so we provide a diverse range of activities for our members. I actively engage with senior management in our department and across the University.

Social Secretary of the University of Birmingham Economics Society. The primary job as Social Sec is to co-ordinate and facilitate networking events, particularly for our first year members. This role requires a great deal of organisation, communication and planning. We run a whole of host of socials throughout the year, these include, but is not limited to, our end of year Ball which hosted over 300 people.

For the past three years I have chaired our Staff-Student Committee of the Economics Undergraduate programme. I also sit on the higher level Business School Committee that oversees Economics, Business Management and Accounting & Finance I have developed a strong dialog with my academics discussing all issues related to the courses I represent. These are high level meetings that require me to have a strong working relationship with a range of senior academics. We discus a number issues including quality of feedback, cohort intake, examiners reports, student feedback and course structure.

I worked within a team of researchers on an array of different projects. These included, crime, healthcare, ethnicity and education. I gained practical applications and additional experience in using both Python and R.

Within days of working for the airline supply company, I went from a data entry assistant to working within a team of supervisors, combining their practical experience with my IT experience to improve existing business processes. I used VBA to improve stocktake records, develop a dynamic quality dashboard.

Democratically elected by my peers I was the leader of the Student Council whose principle function is to identify and meet the needs of the Student Body. I was a part of the reformation to incorporate learner voice by providing feedback to senior management. I serve as Treasurer and have regular meeting with the head of finance regarding budget planning, forecasts and transactions. I oversaw the organisation of events such as parties, formal black tie events and charity awareness incentives.

Over the summer I had the opportunity to observe and shadow different members of staff of the Medical Practice. While working directly with the practice manager I was able to help identify and find solutions to organisational inefficiencies and learn the dynamics of change and project management. Similar to my previous work experience I focused on patient engagement but also look at how the organisation ran on a daily basis. I have a great passion for ICT and was able to find help management find easier ways to do things while also rapidly becoming very accustomed to their clinical IT system, EMIS Web.
