Patrick Villiger joined Aluminium-Laufen Ltd. in April 2013 as CEO. Professional focusing primarily on the development of the Aluminum foundry and extrusions business on an operational level and the implementation of non-organic growth opportunities of Aluminium-Laufen SA.Prior to joining Aluminium-Laufen SA, Patrick worked from 2007 as Managing Director at UAC Global Ltd. (formerly known as UAC Alu Menziken Aerospace) in Switzerland and Romania, where he was among other things, responsible for the development of the aerospace market in Europe and leading the added-value operations in Switzerland, which was finally transferred to Romania. Prior to this, he was responsible for the operations, implemented the value-added strategy by expanding the machining business, and established the assembly activities. With his team, he won the Airbus Golden Supplier Award in 2005. Previously, he was Cast House Manager at Alu Menziken Extrusion Ltd., leading and developing the cast house activities and positioned the cast house as a supplier of specialties in the European market for aluminum billets.Prior to moving into the aluminum industry, Patrick was project engineer leading R&D projects in the fields of ceramic powder development, thermal plasma spraying and thin film technology.
