Green Mantle (Ecosophy) Limited was established in 1992 as an environmental and wildlife habitat management service & consultancy. We work to 'promote the sustainable creation, restoration and management of habitats for wildlife' whilst aiming to provide meaningful employment, giving staff the practical experience required to advance their careers.We cover an area of approximately 400 square miles between Stroud, Frome, Taunton and Weston-super-Mare. This region includes the unimproved wetlands of the Somerset Levels, the Jurassic limestone areas of the Cotswolds and the upland woodlands and meadows of the Carboniferous limestone Mendip Hills.Many of our sites are registered Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and National Nature Reserves (NNRs) although we are keen to maximise the wildlife potential of any given areas of land, be they urban, rural or degraded sites requiring specialist restoration techniques.Specialties: We are one of the largest hands-on practical nature conservation companies in the UK. We work on difficult terrain, (including section-felling trees), with tasks undertaken by well qualified, experienced and approachable staff. Use of a non-machoistic, nurturing and mutually-supportive non-violent employment models are promoted. Holistic green methods are explored and trialed.
