I worked with my replacement (CFO) assisting in fiscal year end closings, the preparation of external reports, training on procedures and policies, providing advice as needed regarding transactions and situations and coordinating timelines, training my replacement.

I was responsible for all external reporting to the SEC and shareholders, overseeing the administrative and accounting staff, presentations to the Board of Directors, drafting of press releases, development of projections and budgets, strategic planning, obtaining financing and maintaining banking and lending relationships, internal financial reporting, managing the risks of the company, overseeing the tax compliance and preparation of tax returns, establishing, monitoring and maintaining the system of internal controls, research and application of GAAP and SEC requirements, managing the investments of the Company, conducting feasibility studies for potential transactions including acquisitions and sales, development of accounting policies and procedures, and other projects as assigned by the Board or CEO.

Preparation of internal and external financial reports to the Board, Executive management, shareholders and business line management. Directing accounting staff on a daily basis to support business activities and reporting requirements including training, communications, timeline development and procedures. Research and application of GAAP, SEC and income tax requirements to financial information. Review of journal entries, chart of account maintenance and preparation of supporting schedules for quarterly and annual audits. Scheduling and coordination of external audits. Establishing and meeting internal and external reporting deadlines. Developing and reporting on budgets and variances. Working with division managers to identify problem areas and suggesting areas for improvement. Conducting research and preparing feasibility studies for contemplated transactions including stress testing and return calculations. Other duties as assigned by the CFO.

Researching market trends affecting the product offerings. Working with corporate accounting to support initiatives and transactions affecting the division. Preparing cash flow and income forecasts for the division and each of its segments.
