Being a successful waiter depends almost entirely on the satisfaction of one's customers, and at Darryl's I have developed important communication skills to ensure the quality of my customers' experience. Also, working in a very busy restaurant such as Darryl's has taught me how to adapt and stay organized in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. In addition to working as a waiter, I was recently added to the sales marketing team in which I meet with company owners to discuss marketing strategies, talk with local business owners to promote the restaurant and facilitate catering opportunities for Darryl's.I am also in the process of obtaining Cicerone certification and after I will be a member of the restaurant's beer selection committee. The Cicerone Certification Program seeks to improve beer quality by certifying the knowledge and tasting skills of those who sell and serve beer.

As a sales associate in the garden center, I was responsible for meeting sales goals, taking inventory, and meeting customer service expectations. In the highly regimented environment that is Wal-Mart I learned quite a bit about the attention to detail required to keep inventory organized. After only one month of employment at Wal-Mart I was asked to be a part of the reset team, in which department managers meet to discuss the changes that would occur with each season change. I would fill in for my manager then report back to the garden center and implement the changes.

As a machine operator for a furniture company I constructed furniture, mostly tables, for numerous companies, ranging from American Eagle to the Pentagon.
