Responsible for (i) developing appropriate Training & Extension programs, policies and procedures for the institute; preparing and reviewing Division and Country Office Budgets and Activity Plans and ensuring actual performance against budget (ii) coordinating the identification of training needs among communities; preparing (or reviewing) training curricula and materials; identifying appropriate training modalities and processes and guiding implementation of training and extension sessions (iii) ensuring alignment of T&E policies and procedures with overall organization mission and strategies; developing monitoring and evaluation systems and instruments; developing linkages with other Training, Research and Development Institutions, Non governmental organizations (NGOs) and Community Based Organizations (CBOs.

Contributed to overall coordination of AICAD activities in the Kenya Country Office. This included (i) supervising staff in the Country Office (ii) ensuring efficient administration of Country Office (iii) planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating research projects, training and information networking (iii) coordinating the work of all AICAD-funded researchers in the country, right from proposal selection, the receipt of funding, monitoring and evaluation and final report presentation (iv) coordinating the processing of data for AICAD research, training, extension and information networking (v) preparing detailed periodic reports on AICAD Country Research Programmes (vi) responding to and acting upon queries from AICAD Secretariat (vii) assisting the Country Director on activities related to AICAD Public Relations at Country level.

Coordination of AICAD's research activities in member countries of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania including development of appropriate research policies, evaluating and recommending research proposals and following up on implementation of research projects.

Established field office for AWF’s Kilimanjaro Heartland (covering the Amboseli-Longido area, spanning the Kenya/Tanzania border) at Namanga; developed partnerships and initiated activities to promote landscape level approach to conservation in the Heartland; coordinated integrated AWF input into support for the heartland; ensured that the design of other AWF initiatives such as enterprise development were implemented according to sound natural resource management and ecological principles.

Provided technical support in the effective planning, management and administration of various ICRAF programs; facilitated efficient internal coordination within the programs.

-Participated in surveys to monitor environmental changes due to both permanent and semi-permanent environmental attributes in the rangelands of Kenya.-Participated in rangeland inventory and assessment of land use changes involving agricultural encroachment in the rangelands of Kenya for effective resource management and conservation.-Participated in surveys to collect socio-economic information and, in assessment of forestry cover changes as influenced by agricultural extension, reforestation programmes and woodfuel harvest.-Prepared flight plans and survey equipment and camping paraphernalia; supervised technical assistants; co-ordinated aerial survey teams composed of Pilots, Biologists, Technical Assistants, Rangers and other support staff.-Participated in Systematic Reconnaissance Flights (SRF) to assess general aspects of the environment, including vegetation, and to conduct aerial surveys for wildlife and livestock census. -Assisted in preparation of departmental work programme.
