As a contract Drilling Engineer, I perform all tasks associated with Oil and Gas Drilling. I work closely with Operators to develop drilling procedures, wellbore diagrams, AFEs, and other documents. My first position with Ryan/NES was as a Field Test Engineer. During this time, I worked mainly on the commercialization of the Electromagnetic MWD tool, which involved both office and field work. This job entailed working with software, firmware, and mechanical engineers while in the office, and while in the field I was mainly responsible for communicating any notes and recommendations I had back to the engineers and office personnel. Once the EM tool neared commercialization, I moved into an MWD Engineer role, gaining more field experience with directional and horizontal wells.
