Having built an extremely successful financial planning practise for over 35 years delivering "proper" financial planning Patrick decided it was time to hang up his calculator. His mantra, life's too short is only any good if he takes his own advice.Patrick founded Financial Planning Partners Ltd in 1985 and still thinks that many financial advisers miss the point although its got a lot better since the days of the wild west in the 1980s. It's never been about "this product is better than that product" This approach is really dull and Patrick along with an gratifyingly larger number of enlightened IFAs delivered "proper" financial planning that is life changing. He is passionate about the philosophy that life is very short and loved helping people to control money in their lives so that they can enjoy the stuff while they are young enough to do so. He loved helping people to make sound financial decisions about really important stuff like when will I run out of money and what can I do about it, rather than dull stuff like investment strategies. Money is the servant, not the master. The reason Patrick got out of bed (earlier than he does now..) is seeing how his advice and expertise helped to change peoples's lives.FPP continues and Patrick has ensured that his clients continue to be served by handing over the reigns to the new "boss" and owner of the business, Andy Hearne. He is author of his short but perfectly formed book "The Life's Too Short Guide to Investing" that lays bare some of the secrets of the financial industry. It is only available by contacting Patrick.Patrick enjoys being random, Argentine Tango, food, theatre, (watching!) ballet, concerts, rugby union, running, travel (Covid permitting), his lovely family, time with friends and letting off really big fireworks. He is very proud to have completed running the Antarctic Ice Marathon for the second time in 2013 but this time with his daughter Charlotte. They are the third father/daughter in the world have run marathons together on all 7 continents. Patrick has raised more than £10,000 for charity.
