Responsible for planning and implementation of company’s entry into asset management business in Canada. From startup, achieved $8.5 billion in assets under management in ten years. As Chair of Investment Committee, responsible for all investment product research and development, and management by third-party managers. Introduced Canada’s most successful non-insurance company DC program, winning 5 of largest 40 plans as clients within two years of introduction. Created innovative socially responsible investing program. Established head office distribution relationships for high net worth market with firms such as BMO Nesbitt Burns and TE Financial. As Ultimately Responsible Person, responsible for all legal matters, including securities registrations for the firm, staff, and mutual funds, in all jurisdictions in Canada, as well as all compliance processes, both internal and external. Supervision of all mutual funds (26 fund family), prospectus creation and amendment, financial statements, and audit.

Provided investment and asset-liability consulting services to a client base including the majority of Canada’s largest pension plan and not-for-profit organizations. As head of manager research and selection, conducted over 1200 placements of third party investment management firms with institutional clients. Intimately involved with corporate financial planning, CICA, FAS and IFS accounting for pensions, including many multinational corporate clients.
