Supervisor, Energy Planning
Current- Oversees analysis, business case and rate support associated with company's energy strategy and planning activities. Develops and presents business cases to support creation or expansion of BWL programs to support future electrification and renewable energy impacts.- Oversight of planning associated with Michigan energy legislation such as PA295/342/235, the MI Healthy Climate Plan and compliance with future renewable and clean energy targets.- Supports and monitors the fiscal year budgets of the department. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, terminating and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and counseling employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems, supporting and encouraging the engagement process.- Supports the development of load forecasts and impacts of future energy demand such as building electrification, transportation electrification and distributed energy resources.- Administers programs associated with renewable energy credits (RECs) such as the GreenWise Renewable Energy Purchase Program, compliance requirements and sale/purchase opportunities.- Understands the purpose and scope associated with production cost models and other energy modeling tools and oversees modeling work performed by energy analysts and other team members.- Represents BWL in public forums, including speaking on behalf of BWL's energy planning activities.- Collaborates with third parties, including consultants and contractors, regarding integrated resource planning and energy modeling.
