Responsible for developing, organizing and implementing high quality, member-focused YMCA sports programs and providing leadership for the Sports Leadership Team across the association.Key Accomplishments:-Created and implemented association COVID-19 Return to Play plan which included running one of only two local winter basketball programs.-Facilitated implementation of a year round adaptive sports program, Warrior Sports, for athletes with diverse abilities which includes an annual trip to the Carolina Panthers Challenger League Jamboree. -Guided sports leadership team to record growth in local YMCA sports participation in 2023 including surpassing pre-pandemic total participation and grossing just over $1M in revenue.-Collaborated with major school system, WSFCS, to create first intramural middle school flag football program which included leagues for both boys and girlsCommittees:Y-USA Character Development Learning Institute (2018-2020)YMCA of NWNC Christian Leadership Conference (2021-current)YMCA LINK Sports Community Moderator (2022-current)Y-USA Sports Thought Leader Cohort (2024-current)

Swim, Sports & Play

-Oversee sports operations for the association serving 9,300+ participants per year in the following counties: Davie, Forsyth, Iredell, Stokes, Wilkes and Yadkin. (pre-COVID)-Manage four Sports Directors and seven Sports Coordinators that run day-to-day operations at our 12 branch locations as well as 150+ part time staff and independent contractors and 650+ volunteers. (pre-COVID)-Act as sports program expert and leads the development of association-wide sports program operating plans.-Develops and implements data collection efforts, including participant, staff and volunteer evaluation. Uses data and research to establish and implement plans for the quality growth and development of sports programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA strategy plan.-Develops sports program budget recommendations and supports program area to ensure goals are achieved.-Ensures compliance with sports program-specific regulations/standards are met, including quality standards, safety and risk management policies and procedures.-Works collaboratively with association and branch teams to coordinate annual training plan, marketing efforts, collect impact stories and assists in purchasing of equipment.-Actively participates and leads department meetings and training for sports.-Currently serve on Christian Leadership Conference, Employee Resource Group and Invincible Y-Culture + Talent Management committees.-Currently serve as a Moderator for the Sports community on Y-LINK.

Sports Branch- Jerry Long Family Ymca, Davie Family Ymca & Stokes Family Ymca
