Within my career of being a law enforcement officer, I have learned to investigate all types of crimes and incidents. These crimes and incidents included but not limited to disturbances, assaults, domestic assaults, frauds, larcenies, burglaries, robberies, mental investigations, and death investigations. Currently, I am a patrol officer for the Southwest Team and respond to calls for service involving the community.

In January of 2019, I sustained an injury while on duty, which resulted in me being reassigned to the LPD dispatch center for several months. During this time, I learned to take calls from the public and put the details of those calls up for the dispatchers. I gained a new appreciation for the call takers and for the dispatchers through this experience. As an officer it can be frustrating going to a call without much information, however through my time as a call taker I have learned that due to the high emotions of the caller it is not always possible to get specific details as to what they are encountering. I was also able to give my expertise to the call takers and dispatchers as to why officers need specific information when they are responding for a call for service.

Over the course of 7 to 8 years working at Hy-Vee, I have handled a variety of different jobs. Duties included Store Stocker, Delivery Driver, Gas Station Clerk, Dairy Department Clerk, Cashier, and Courtesy. Before leaving Hy-Vee, I assisted the store assistant managers in different assignments that they had, such as stocking store shelves, back room duties, customer service, building store displays and flower/food delivery.
