I have a strong passion for building things. I find it incredibly satisfying to design a system, and then iterate until it is live. My area of expertise is primarily Java and Spring, but with a strong inclination towards dipping my toes into all sorts of adjacent tech, both on and off the job. Most of my time as a professional engineer has been spent working on finance systems. Particularly payment processing systems, fraud detection, risk evaluation(a la credit scoring), and tax. The services that make up these systems come in all forms, batch jobs, REST API, message processors, data processors, etc. I support these applications from the development side, but also from the production support side.More recently I have been spending a good amount of my time mentoring others, and passing on what I have learned to help newer team mates flourish. I enjoy this as well, but nothing beats throwing on some good music and banging out some code!
