I am about to embark on my latest challenge - to cycle around the World!From May this year I will cycle from Twickenham, UK, to Tokyo, Japan: a journey of more than 7,500 miles and climbing more than 50,000m of ascent, crossing northern Europe and all of Russia. This is a journey of nearly five months' cycling, but I won't be alone - I will be supported by my friend and neighbour Glenn (Fisher) driving a support van, cooking meals and helping to mend the punctures! As if that wasn't enough, in 2020 we plan to take the "long way home" by cycling across North America, Iceland and back through Ireland, Scotland and Wales before returning home to Surrey - a circumnavigation of the world with bike and van! Why are we doing this? To show how everyone can increase their chances of preventing and beating cancer (by getting an early diagnosis, exercising, staying positive and eating the right diet for you) and to raise money for great causes, namely: World Cancer Research Fund - the only charity focussed on preventing cancer through diet, lifestyle and exercise, andSt Catherine's Hospice - our local hospice, providing vital care at the end of life, helping others who haven't been as lucky as me.Patrick and Glenn will appreciate all your support before and during their five month journey from Twickenham to Tokyo - and beyond.
