I am a recent Syracuse University graduate, with a B.Sc. in Nutrition Science and an Exercise Science minor on the pre-medical track at Syracuse University, class of 2014. My particular interests were in sports nutrition, exercise physiology, and biochemistry. I am taking a gap year following graduation prior to applying to graduate school for the 2016 cycle, and am searching for opportunities to expand on my base of knowledge and prepare me for higher education. My ultimate academic and professional goal is to pursue an MD and specialize in cardiology, internal medicine, or gastroenterology. My current research interest is in integrating and applying diet and exercise with medicine to treat chronic diseases, specifically cardiovascular disease and type 1 and 2 diabetes. At Syracuse, I was a brother of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and have held an officer position, Phi Kappa Phi honors fraternity, and the Pershing Rifles military fraternal organization where I was the Master Fitness Trainer. In my free time I enjoy running, cooking, and reading about global affairs. Currently I am a volunteer firefighter and Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician at Eagle Fire Company in New Hope, Pennsylvania, and will continue to volunteer there during my gap year.
