About Patrick Berton

Energetic, hardworking, driven young lawyer in the making with a great story. I graduated summa cum laude from Lynn University in three years with a Political Science B.S. and two minors in Criminal Justice and International Affairs. I also worked 20-40+ hours a week in the award-winning Office of Admission, was involved in countless clubs and organizations, and still managed to take at least 18 credits a semester.Then, I moved directly back to Pennsylvania from Boca Raton, Florida, and started law school at The Penn State University. After completing the “dreaded” 1L year, I helped out U.S. Steel’s in-house Legal Department for the summer. There, I was able to work in various departments and help out on all the current projects. My favorite part was the people and being around experienced attorneys, being back in an office environment, and solving REAL legal issues! Translating my first-year experiences into 2L success, I got more involved on campus becoming the Sports & Entertainment Law Society President and the Human Rights Society Vice President. I also joined the Penn State Law Entrepreneurship Assistance Clinic helping out start-ups and small businesses before starting with TE Connectivity's in-house legal department my 2L Summer.I have worked diligently at Rigdon, Alexander & Rigdon, LLP, since my graduation from Law School, initially serving as a Legal Clerk, specializing in Insurance Defense Litigation. Throughout my tenure, I played an integral role in navigating the legal landscape, notably helping the firm to overcoming the challenges posed by the Florida 2023 Tort Reform. Alongside my colleagues, we successfully tackled a substantial caseload, demonstrating resilience and expertise in our field. After becoming a member of The Florida Bar, I've stepped up to manage a diverse caseload of over 30 Personal Injury Insurance Defense cases. I have gained a lot of experience over the past year and apply this newly found knowledge to secure favorable outcomes for our clients. I have accomplished all this since the start of the global pandemic. The above description also neglects that I went from being in a wheelchair for eight years to walking with a walker, that I am visual impaired, and have hand tremors. It also forgets to mention my countless volunteer hours and community work with non-profits like Make-A-Wish and Impacted Inc.My name is Patrick Berton, and hell yeah, I’m FIRED UP about life!
