As a Technical Applications Specialist for NanoDrop products I directly interacted with customers on the phone or via email. I helped customers streamline experiments, troubleshoot instrument-computer communication difficulties, set-up service for instruments, educated customers about spectrophotometry, analyzed data, and worked with customers to ensure our instruments met their needs.I was an integral part of the NanoDrop products technical support team. We consistently provided world-class customer service every year, which was evident by our world-class CAS Net Promoter score.I performed UX/UI testing on new and developing software, created customer-facing protocols, advertisements, and technical application notes, and communicated with an array of internal teams to improve the customer experience.I educated our international distributors about how to service NanoDrop instruments. I taught technicians from all over the world, including Guatemala, UK, France, and South Korea. I represented NanoDrop products at shows and conferences in the mid-Atlantic region, including the NIH Tent Show and the 2018 Society for Neuroscience Conference. In August 2015, I received a Moment of Excellence Award for superior customer service. As a researcher in the lab of Dr. Richard Woodruff at West Chester University, I worked on two project, both of which yielded first-author papers. The first used fluorescent dye and chemical antagonists to elucidate the signal transduction cascade that starts with calmodulin passing through O. fasciatus oocyte gap junctions and ends in the endocytic uptake of yolk precursor proteins. The second showed that endocytic activity can be stimulated in Drosophila oocytes by foreign yolk protein. It was shown that a protein that was previously thought to have a structure specific to the species of insect, vitellin, is in fact conserved throughout a number of Orders. Drosophila incubated in the presence of foreign yolk protein began endocytic uptake and sequestered the ectopic yolk into nascent yolk spheres inside its oocyte. These findings lead us to propose what other proteins have been evolutionarily conserved.I presented both projects as posters at area symposia:Gap Junction-Transmitted CaM Acitvates the Signal Cascade for Endocytosis of Yolk Precursor in Oncopeltus.
