Prior to my venture into real estate development, I was very fortunate to obtain project management and financial & data analysis skills while forecasting sales, demand planning inventory, and managing the manufacturing of new product launches for Fortune 500 companies. These transferable skillsets proved be extremely beneficial in this arena. In my current Land Development & Acquisitions role, I simultaneously managing 8-10 multimillion dollar land development projects of residential subdivisions & infill lots across Wake & Johnston Counties. My main objective is ensure our "vertical" construction team has a sufficient quantity of finished lots, so that we can achieve our annual and long-term build-goals. Being subdivisions often take more than five years plan, entitle, and develop, maintaining a 5-10 year landbank is vital. This includes strategically orchestrating the sequential completion of finished lots by neighborhood and by phase, for seamless lot fulfillment at the same rate that houses are being built and sold. In short, having many balls in the air while keeping the jobs flexible, safe, and in compliance ...is a day in the life. What I like most about Real Estate Development, is that no two days are the same and I get to use both, my analytical & creative sides. What I like most about doing this for Habitat, is that I am directly involved from the ground up in creating subdivisions filled with hope!
