Johannesburg / Harare

I was a director (partner) in the Banking and Finance Department at Norton Rose Fulbright attached to their Johannesburg office. My focus was on cross border Africa work, advising on aspects of English law. During my tenure with Norton Rose Fulbright I was involved in a number of banking and finance transactions including acting for lenders across a range of secured and unsecured facilities and on the investment in and structuring of loan notes. I was also advising on various corporate and investment fund matters involving inbound investment into the sub-Saharan Africa region and commodity transactions.

Cayman Islands

I was a partner in the investment funds group at Harneys specialising in Cayman Islands law and was involved in structuring of open ended and closed ended investment funds across all asset classes. Headed up the Africa Practice for the firm with significant business development responsibilities.

London And George Town, Grand Cayman

I specialised in Cayman Islands law in the establishment and maintenance of offshore hedge, venture capital and private equity funds and the structuring of private equity portfolio acquisitions and disposals, as well as general corporate transactions.

I worked as an associate in the Investment Management Group at Linklaters, being involved in a wide variety of fund transactions, both onshore and offshore. My time at Linklaters included a six month secondment to the Linklaters Loesch office in Luxembourg.
