Over $350,000 has been raised in 2024 from corporate sponsors.- Reorganized the NORD Corporate Council to focus on specific issues within the two existing working groups: Patient Advocacy & Engagement and Policy. o Patient Advocacy & Engagement Working Group focused on developing guidelines for biopharmaceutical companies to engage with patient advocacy organizations on specific issues (preclinical/clinical stage engagement, prelaunch/postlaunch engagement and regulator/policymaker engagement). o Created Public Policy newsletter so that Working Group meetings can focus on a specific issue.- Established a Regulatory Affairs Working Group for the NORD Corporate Council where dialogue can occur with the FDAon a specific regulatory topic.- Develop and host the CEO Perspectives session at the annual NORD Rare Diseases and Orphan Products Breakthrough Summit. Manage the $2M annual budget and the charitable contribution budget of $600K for advocacy-related activities.- Achieved exclusion of plasma therapies in the Medicare direct drug pricing negotiation section of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, protecting $300M in annual revenue. Similar exclusion also obtained from Trump Administration Most Favored Nation Drug Pricing rule.- Persuaded Congress to establish a permanent Medicare administration code for CSL Behring’s subcutaneous immune globulin product, bringing in $200M+ annually through Medicare Part B utilization.- Devised a pilot nursing program implemented by the province of Ontario’s Ministry of Health where nursing services specific to the administration of subcutaneous immune globulin are reimbursed. The projected results were $10-15M of increased revenue for CSL Behring’s brand.- Drove CSL Behring efforts within larger U.S.-based international corporate effort that excluded cost of goods from the Base Erosion and Anti-Abuse Tax (BEAT) of the Tax Cut and Jobs Act of 2017. The cost of goods exclusion from BEAT resulted in annual tax benefits of ~$40M - $100M annually.
