Microsoft (11yrs): OSs, devices, servers, search. Google (11yrs): systems, data, devices, ads. Amazon (5yrs): consumer, DNN/ML, ads +$3B ARR. Zendesk (2yrs): ML/LLMs, transformation. It's easy and lazy to build complex software, and instead I've taken the harder path of making things that are simple and loved by customers. I've had the privilege of leading efforts at some of the most well-respected tech companies: Microsoft, Google, and Amazon, where I've built a track record of creating, scaling, and improving global products, teams, and businesses. Most recently, I served as the Chief Engineering and Product Officer at Zendesk, where I led a team of 1900 through considerable transformation that delivered GenAI and ML customer experience services to 100,000 businesses worldwide (with billions of transactions), including Home Depot, Four Seasons, Ticketmaster, and Coupang. Before that, I was the VP of Product and Technology at Amazon, where I delivered the Sponsored Brands program, the fastest-growing ad program in the world that continues to grow and deliver $3B in ARR. During my time at Google and Microsoft, I worked my way up from an entry-level developer to a Product Unit Manager and General Manager for several global divisions, developing advanced technology, devices, and infrastructure still used by billions of customers every day.Building great team culture is important to me, because it's essential to delivering innovation. One of my proudest moments was when David Pogue of The New York Times described my team's work creating a learning mesh product as βThe Wi-Fi Router Steve Jobs Might Have Built.β Another team's efforts were recognized by IEEE, who named Google Company of the Year in 2013. I'm passionate about advocating for diversity in STEM education, which is why I serve on the Board of Trustees at Harvey Mudd College.I hold a Masterβs in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, specializing in Machine Learning, and a Bachelorβs in Computer Science with a minor in Math from the University of Arizona.Outside of work, I have a deep interest in digital photography, astronomy, art, and science. However, my biggest accomplishments in life are raising three solid humans, being a good partner to my wife, and being a dependable son and son-in-law.
