My passion is to explore high energy and nuclear physics in order to better understand the universe observed all around us. In many cases the physics equations used to describe these phenomena are far too complex to be solved with pencil and paper. Using quantum computing and HPC scientific and state-of-the-art computer systems, I am developing algorithms and programming models for both digital and quantum computing systems to explore these fundamental forces in the universe.I was born and grew up in the New York City area. When I was 10 years old my father took me to an Open House day at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. I was fascinated and mesmerized by the nuclear particle accelerators, the experimental areas, and the electronics and computers in the control rooms. It was impressive to see how all that complex equipment and engineering came together to help us discover the “how” and “why” properties of some of the smallest physical particles in this universe. From then on, I resolved to acquire the knowledge and training so that I could enjoy building systems and leading research teams that utilize the newest advanced technologies to tackle some of today's most difficult problems. This spans everything from discovering answers to questions in high energy and nuclear physics to using new computer science methodologies for finding useful business, science, and technology information hidden within the volumes of large data sets. I enjoy reaching out, making new acquaintances and exchanging new ideas and visions for advanced technology and computing with others.
