As manager of the proposal and estimating department for North American projects, I was accountable for the following: - Technical and commercial responsibility for all capital cost estimates and proposals within the North American region - Management and preparation of capital cost estimates and proposals for projects ranging from pre-feasibility studies to turnkey EPC projects in the material handling, mineral processing, and heavy industrial sectors. - Managerial responsibilities for a team of engineers, estimators, and designers, including budget planning and resource allocation and management - Facilitator of conflict resolution within the department, providing daily guidance, and nurturing productive working relationships between individuals and departments - Fosterer of a proactive and interactive safety-focused environment - Presentation of technical and commercial proposals to clients- Internal and external stakeholder management - Schedule review and optimization - Cash flow creation and review - Sub-supplier bid solicitation, adjudication, and negotiation - Identification and application of value engineering propositions - Review and approval of detailed bill of quantities - Internal handover meetings for successful bids and investigative meetings for unsuccessful bids

I was a member of the global oversight team, tasked with leading, supporting, and reviewing proposals and estimates for all regional globally. During my time with River Consulting, my responsibilities included the following: - Preparation of estimates for projects ranging from pre feasibility studies to turnkey EPC material handling systems; - Project and structural-specific specification review and creation; - Project structural engineering; - Field engineering for EPS material handling systems - Interface management between field personnel and home office, developing budgets, schedules, scopes, and material take offs for proposals and change orders - Oversight of fabrication and construction, including inspection of as-built structures, and monitoring of contractors. - Interpretation of engineering plans and management of design adjustments during construction - Mitigation of RFIs and NCRs to avoid back charges and maintain schedule - Design and review of calculations for structures and foundations to ensure compliance with local and international codes and regulations - Reduce company exposure to project back charges by collaborating with contractors on site, making key engineering decisions, and following through on contract close-out issues - Maintained and improve schedule by expediting key tasks while working from field offices
