I am an experienced application and web developer with an emphasis in social media integration. I also specialize in Information Technology Audit remediation – fixing potential IT issues before they become real problems. This includes Business Continuity planning & implementation. I'm experienced with government, legal, & real estate applications. Additionally, I'm well versed in documenting & implementing Policies, Standards, Guidelines & Procedures for businesses large and small.I've supported numerous nonprofits and corporate entities in planning, purchasing and implementing IT and sound equipment and networks. This included purchasing computer/sound equipment, set up, maintenance, and retiring it from operation. I am currently supporting a number of small and mid-size companies as an IT & Sound Design Consultant. This has included the porting of data in a number of web application into single master websites. Additionally, development, optimization, and maintenance of some 30 WordPress sites is currently underway for numerous corporation and non-profits. I also support the clients as an SME in domains, DNS, and email optimization and development.Additionally I have planned, executed and completed a number of web projects using numerous web frameworks, tools and languages. The majority of these have been using Linux, Apache, MySql, and PHP. Recent support has focused on using Word Press and Joomla frameworks and themes.Some clients have also brought me in as a theatrical & corporate event sound designer and operative. This has included creating, planning , documenting, and implementing many sound needs. The support has involved mic'ing instruments, body mics, SFX, sound for presentations, live phone calls, setting up and running sound boards, and acquiring various equipment and tools to offer sound support both inside and outdoors. I have also been engaged to be a sound or IT SME to oversee installation and implementation by other contractors.

I have supported various student Robotics competitions at a local, collegiate, state, regional and national levels over the last 8 years. These programs have involved students from Middle School to College. I've worked as an announcer, planner, organizer and even a "Lead Queuer" at these events. This work is done as an "in-kind" service, allowing me to hone many technical AND people skills while networking in my field.The Robotic Support has been varied, announcing the 2011 Maryland state FIRST Lego League (FLL) championship; supporting the planning committee & announcing FIRST Robotic Challenge (FRC) Chesapeake Regional for 8 years; queuing & VIP meals at the DC FRC Regional; announcing at a VA regional & the World FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC). Furthermore, I've supported various robotic classes/clubs at the University of Maryland. Finally, I've found mentors & funding for various robotics teams in the Mid-Atlantic region.I'v also supported a number of Theatres, both back stage (Director, Sound?Light Tech & Design, Stage Manager, etc.) and as an actor for 20 years. I'm currently directing a Shakespeare show outdoors. This work is pro bono, & allows me to hone management AND people skills. For example, I headed a BAE Systems team, in the Walk to the Cure for JDRF, raising $3045 as a team and over $2000 myself.

My last position with BAE Systems, Inc. was as a Training Manager for a program with 500 employees, where I developed and implemented a training plan, a training request application (using a ColdFusion/Oracle web interface), and a training library. I also managed all the interns in our inter program (up to 15 people each summer) . I recently won awards for the intern program, automating the Assignments Panel and the training request application.I am also very active in "emerging technologies" (e.g.: Social media, twitter, collaborative online tools, etc.). I currently act as an "adjunct communication specialist", which means I am an embedded communications person. I develop stories, take pictures and support communications initiatives from within my program. I also have been instrumental in building the pipeline for our next generation of engineers through support for the FIRST robotics program, developing and implementing an intern program, supporting UMD Robotics courses, and other STEM initiatives.

This included defining the system requirements of a new LAN (Windows NT with Windows for Workgroups), the configuration of various workstations, modem lines, file servers and fax equipment, and the programming of a digital phone system to achieve stated goals. Consulted with office personnel in developing design specifications for a database to track all foreclosure activity at the firm. This project included extensive design, development, in-house testing and working closely with the office staff to determine future requirements and optimize data input and output. Conducted all training and implementation of on-line help and documentation of the application.

Oversaw the determination of hardware and software requirements of the station and the subsequent purchase of a Macintosh computer with various peripherals and software packages. Continuing product evaluation of software products and hardware upgrades kept the station competitive in promotional and programming arenas.Designed a database to track a Music Library of over 20000 CDs, Albums, Reel-to-Reel tapes, and other magnetic media utilizing FileMakerPro in a Macintosh System 7.0 environment. This included the development of a GUI date entry screen to ease the daunting task of large data input and various output formats to trace music playlists, loss of media and future needs.Using Pagemaker 5.0 (Mac O/S), a Template was developed for a quarterly Newsletter after extensive requirement analysis with the Promotional Department. Also involved in Station training of hardware and software packages. This training included Pagemaker 4.0 and 5.0, MS Word and various art packages.
