Director of Finance and IT is both an old and new position for me. I now head up the accounting department while continuing to focus on strategic analysis, forecasting, budgeting, project management and technical leadership.The role is well positioned to help the rest of the TruckVault team do what they do best. Supplying appropriate guidance and resource is the focus, and I'm looking forward to it!

Hybrid CIO / GM position working closely with the CEO and Board of Directors, leading the management team, preparing and sharing financials and strategic information both internally and externally, and guiding the use of technology to improve both operations and interactions with customers. Focused on leading and supporting operations across two plants with strong sales growth, materials and labor scarcity, and a need for new tools and processes as we outgrow historical methods.Specifics: • Project management; guiding internal and external teams using cloud-enabled tools. • Work with our accounting team to prepare financials, leveraging ERP data to provide detailed financial information with KPI's specific to our needs. • Budgeting, forecasting, and modeling within departments and companywide. • Work with departments to assess needs and provide the tools required for growth and efficiency gains. • Manage ERP resources and extensions including an intranet that drives our production schedule, inventory processes, and real-time dashboards. • Direct development of our external and internal web resources. • Developed and now maintain our web sales "Configurator", a full stack product quoting solution integrated with ERP data. • Manage company IT resources and staff including network, security, cloud, and VPN assets. • Manage and help define trademarks and patents. Inventor on a drawer locking technology patent. • Work with engineering on product specification environment utilizing parametric 3D modeling and automation in SolidWorks. • Established a new production plant on the opposite coast. Project included property acquisition, building upgrades, and startup of initial production. Relocated to Virginia for 18 months. • Managed a GSA contract for 15 years.Technical competencies include MS SQL, PHP, ASP, VBA, JS, jQuery, VSC, GIT, AWS development, SolidWorks, Sketchup, V-Ray, 3D printing, and advanced Excel work.

Worked to ensure and improve company efficiency, productivity and profitability guided by customer and employee feedback, and analysis of available metrics. Worked to create a culture of continuous improvement for processes, systems and project management. Reported on company performance to all levels of management and ownership. Enjoyed working with a great team as we faced the challenges of a fast-growing company both in revenue and product offerings.

Led many projects to analyze needs and implement appropriate solutions as the company grew. Introduced new ERP, CRM, enterprise client/server software and data environments. Implemented three generations of dynamic web presence. Created an internal Intranet with SQL driven daily business intelligence reporting. Managed the company phone, network and server resources.Special projects included maintaining the company's GSA contract, implementation of the SolidWorks 3D design environment including early large assembly and drawing design approaches, and the maintenance of product pricing and purchasing tools including an on-line quoting environment.

Internet Database Solutions provided both advanced web design services and network support for a variety of companies in Skagit / Whatcom counties (located in Washington state). The company was a partnership between Patrick Garrett and Derek Furman, a talented local graphic designer.

Skagit Online Services was the first full service internet provider in Skagit County, Washington. We grew from basic Unix based services to offering the full spectrum of technologies and solutions available at the time including web design and hosting, Frame Relay and DSL connectivity, and custom database integration and development.The company experienced strong growth through 1998 and was sold to Northwest Link, a regional competitor in June of that year.

Lead Foxbase / FoxPro / Fortran developer for ProGroup software suite including Active Partner. Managed both local and off-shore programming teams.
