I worked with the infrastructure group, leadership, and other stakeholders to provide solution architectures for the server, network, security, and disaster recovery infrastructures and implemented data governance, stewardship, and catalogs. I created the solution architecture and managed the creation of a streamlined enterprise data warehouse leveraging the latest in-memory database technology. I decreased data warehouse build times by 75% while increasing the volume of available data by over 200%. I also implemented Scrum to manage BI development, encourage a collaborative environment, deliver development goals, and improve customer service; I worked with the BI team to increase business alignment, transparency, and quality. Moreover, I architected the reporting interfaces to our HRIS and ERP systems using Python, significantly increasing management visibility of coding coverage for the various sub-specialties at the school of medicine. In addition, I added a data modeling service to our catalog for enhanced operational reporting, which was leveraged to study the financial impact of COVID-19 and to support adherence to population health and value-based performance goals. Furthermore, I developed dynamic economic models to predict and manage cyclical IT spending over time. I also initiated the data exchange with the CU School of Medicine and partners at UCHealth and Children’s Hospital using Python and Microsoft SSIS, enabling the Directors of Finance and Administration to report to their leadership more efficiently. As part of the Security and Compliance Committee, I ensured HIPAA compliance. I discussed security issues for the University of Colorado’s “Health Data Compass” data warehouse in Google Big Query.

I led the migration of the Citrix desktop infrastructure to cloud hosts, increasing reliability and enabling a work-from-home program. I implemented load balancing and failover to reduce recovery times and new backup software to improve disaster recovery. I also enhanced the line of business applications to meet the changing requirements of business users. I managed the user stories and planned possible enhancements. Moreover, I streamlined Information Technology operations and processes and actively managed the entire development cycle. I also enhanced operations by migrating from Scrum to SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) to address stakeholder concerns. I spearheaded the intelligent planning and implementation of a cloud-based phone system, reducing telephony costs by 40% and improving conferencing performance and voice quality. Lastly, I evaluated thin client desktop solutions as a potential cost reduction measure – I ran a pilot to assess the impact of a shift from desktops to thin clients.
