Led funding and P3 discussions for client with governments.• Worked with the IESO, Hydro One, Ontario Energy Board (OEB) and local Municipal Electrical Utilities (MEU) to develop MEUs’ renewable and storage projects, and to help MEU’s clients reduce electricity use and connect “Behind the Meter” projects to the MEU’s distribution systems.• Reviewed renewable and conservation measures for remote Indigenous Communities. • Submitted and secured federal and provincial grants and loans for energy projects.

OEC’s Generation and Energy Services subdivision is a $100+ million company managing a broad portfolio of energy and infrastructure companies (hydroelectric, solar, landfill gas, and geo-exchange), serving municipalities and businesses in Canada and beyond. I reported to CAO with the dual responsibility of optimizing $10 million in annual operations and revenue and acquiring new green generation projects across North America.- He negotiated Joint Venture Agreement with Geo-source Energy, creating a $30+ million pipeline of geo-exchange projects, which is expected to grow to $200 million with Federal grants and loans (e.g., Canadian Infrastructure Bank).- Led a consortium of Enbridge, Alectra, CIMA+, Black and McDonald, and OEC to successfully respond to the $100+ million Battery Electric Bus request for proposals from Oakville Transit, with a strategy for the partners to offer this as an Energy Service for Battery Electric and Hydrogen fueled buses.- Completed the 50,000 sq.ft. Oakville Trafalgar geo-exchange system, and 500 kW roof-top solar. He organized $1 million in federal funding.- A created turnaround plan to address operational and maintenance issues related to chronic forced outages of hydroelectric, solar, and landfill. Reduced forced outages and improved revenues.- He addressed stakeholder issues with the operation of hydroelectric and geo-exchange through public and private meetings, which resulted in an extension of leases.- Organized entry plan into the United States to purchase hydroelectric plants and build Greenfield hydroelectric, solar, and wind.

Built and led cross-functional teams of ~20 staff and consultants to manage environmental affairs, Indigenous consultation, and government and stakeholder relations through multiple consultant engagements. Achieved collaborative partnerships with MPPs, MPs, Minister Offices, Mayor Offices, municipalities, Indigenous communities, community groups, and stakeholders. • Commenced, financed and completed McGraw Falls dam’s Environmental Assessment (EA) and Water Management Plan (WMP). Successfully engaged Agencies (federal and provincial), municipalities, +15 stakeholders, and 5 Indigenous communities, and resolved multiple Part II Order requests. Successfully awarded a provincial grant of ~$1 million for McGraw Falls project. Completed Impact Benefit and Partnership agreements.• Launched and directed 13 on-going Class EA and led numerous “face to face” stakeholders, municipal, Indigenous community, and governments (federal and provincial) engagements. Responsible for Northland’s acquisition and development strategy to acquire Greenfield and existing waterpower assets in Ontario. Assisted in the wind farm, co-generation, and energy storage acquisitions and developments on Crown lands.• Designed submission structure for waterpower projects to the Crown, including 500 Megawatts (MW) Steeprock Mine Pump Storage Project and led stakeholder, municipal and Indigenous consultation and partnership discussions.• Connected Senior Management to the 400 MW Marmora Pump Storage by inspiring them to the common cause of the opportunity presented by electricity storage in Ontario using new energy storage technologies.• Team member in the successful submission of the wind and GTG-HRSG co-generation power plants to the Ontario Power Authority, including 256 MW Thorold Co-generation project and 60 MW McLean's Mountain, for PPA.

Responsible for transition and resolution of issues associated with the multi-million dollar sale of CREC to Canadian Hydro Developers Inc. for cash and stock-swap. Projects included 3 MW Misema Generating Station (GS), 4 MW Sawer and Douro hydroelectric projects, 16 MW Island Falls (Yellow Falls) hydroelectric project, 200 MW Wolfe Island Wind Farm, 100 MW Melancthon (stage 1) Wind Farm. Included completion of government relations, PPA, EAs (provincial and federal), agreements, permits, tenure, and issuing licenses from the Ontario Energy Board (OEB).

Represented CREC’s interests to the federal and provincial governments (MPPs, MPs, Minister Offices) Indigenous communities, municipalities, and stakeholders -- acted as "trouble-shooter" for projects. The face of CREC to the public, leading media interviews and project’s Open Houses. • Member of Senior Management team that acquired, financed, built and commissioned the Misema hydroelectric generating station in 2004 and operated it until 2005. Successfully built cross function team and managed the completion of EA, government relations, Indigenous consultation, OEB licenses, PPA, interconnection to Hydro One distribution lines, Water Management Plan, Waterpower Lease Agreement, and Impact Benefit Agreements.• Responsible for EA, transmission/distribution connections, stakeholder and Indigenous engagement, government relations, and media affairs for 200 MW Wolfe Island and 100 MW Melancthon (stage 1) Wind Farms, 4 MW Sawer/Douro, and 16 MW Island Falls (Yellow Falls) hydroelectric projects. After that, led the transition to Canadian Hydro Developers.• Chaired Inter Agency meetings to resolve complex technical issues with the regulators prior to completing the EAs.• Member of Senior Management team that successfully negotiated the sale of CREC to Canadian Hydro Developers Inc., for +20% return on investment. Successfully managed severance and employee termination agreements. The sole member of Senior Management team retained for the transition of assets by Canadian Hydro Developers Inc.

Advised clients on energy and environmental issues including evaluations and regulatory assessment of energy projects, clean and alternative technologies, energy audits, carbon accounting, and emission credits. Conducted technical review, output analysis, reviewed PPA, and due-diligence and valuations on waterpower, wind power, and cogeneration plants in Canada.

Responsible for the sales strategy of a new co-generation unit with the capability of producing excess heat for hot water or steam using biomass, wastes and natural gas -- in combination -- as fuels. Developed corporate affairs strategy for Canada, and wrote successful submissions for provincial and federal governments’ funding of this technology.
