Patrick Harders began his passion and love for outdoor lighting unexpectedly. When he was studying Finance at UNC Charlotte, he took a part time job working 5-6 nights a week performing nighttime demonstration designs. Once Patrick saw the transformation that proper lighting could make, the rest was history. The Idea of working in a cubicle at large bank or insurance company no longer seemed appealing.Patrick's grandfather was incredibly influential in his life and one life lesson that he took to heart was the idea of a constant pursuit to be the best at whatever you do. This desire to continually learn about lighting unexpectedly lead Patrick into designing and developing lighting fixtures and the birth of Sterling Lighting.
