Hey, this is Patrick! 👋I like data, digital art and technology. Here are some quick facts about me:I've worked 6 years in academia and engineering, specializing in numerical simulation, data analysis & visualization, MATLAB and Python programming. After graduating with a Master's Thesis about simulation & energetic optimization of water pumps, I've continued working in university as part of a research project; developing a water demand forecast software among others. The project resulted in a distinguishable reduction of 5% energy usage for drinking water supply. Also being active in teaching I could pass on my knowledge of math and programming for aspiring engineering students in various courses and projects.Having worked as freelance 3D designer for architectural visualization before, I also started teaching Motion Design and 3D animation. My latest job has been Digital Artist/Motion Designer for Ford Motor Company, where I've designed the welcome animations of the user interface for two of their most recent vehicles (2024 Explorer and yet undisclosed vehicle).Automating and optimizing 3D pipeline processes at Ford I rediscovered my passion for proceduralism, programming and data.Being laid off due to corporate restructuring I've joined a Data Science bootcamp in 2024.The goal is to expand my knowledge on this field and focus on working with data even more than before.Since then I've created several data-driven projects that you can find on my GitHub. Featuring Python, Google Cloud Platform and Tableau. My latest personal project is a datascraper using Pandas, Selenium and SQL. It scans an online blu-ray shop and saves me 15-20% when buying new movies.Considering half of my skillset has been self-taught, I'd say problem solving is my passion and I'm always on the lookout for a new challenge. Some random facts:I've worked 6 years on weekends as a maintenance technician for surface mining equipment.Almost quit school in 11th grade because of Math, only to be graduating in Engineering and being a lecturer on Math 6 years later.Used to play in a Thrash Metal band for ca. 10 years.
