Compassion. It comes from communication, of which listening is the biggest element. Be it ancient history or today's news, how is what is being said impacting the person now? Whether you can do anything about it or not, listening and hearing what is being communicated is important. Important for that person, a team, and you. Its information and information is power. Power to uplift, support, or enact change. Listening and actually hearing allows one to know what the missing piece is for another person, your team and/or client. Once you know what that piece is, one can work towards providing it. And that is what we are usually trying to do, provide something useful to others.
