According to data published by the Association of American Medical Colleges in 2020, by 2023, U.S. could see a shortage of 54,100 to 139,000 physicians. People within the medical field are something that we need and are always looking for. Whether it’s doctors, nurses, or technical assistants, there is always a demand for these types of people. Naturally, as someone who wishes to counteract the shortage to help save more lives and make the world a better place, I strive to become a physician. As a junior, I’m focusing my education primarily on learning about molecular genetics and psychology to better understand not only the molecular framework of humans, but also the inner working of a person’s mind all in an effort to create a foundation for learning about medicine. At the same time, I’m also gaining valuable research experience from the medical center as a research assistant. Performing western blots and developing cell cultures, I’ve gained laboratory skills that may benefit my path to learn more about technical medical skills. Taking in the knowledge that I’ve learned and the skills that I have gained, I wish to expand on them and eventually use them to help those in need. I hope to one day be able to work as someone in the front lines, saving people’s lives and the next step I need now is to gain more direct exposure and experience within the clinical fields.I am someone who is adaptive to different environments, dedicated to produce quality work, and open to new experiences. Currently, I am pursuing any position that would give me the opportunity to gain clinical experience so that I can gain insight as to what I wish to specialize in and ultimately strive toward my final goal. I would be thrilled to learn more about healthcare so please feel free to connect with me!
