Power Distributors is the sales and distribution center for Briggs and Stratton, the leading manufacturer of air-cooled gasoline engines and service parts for outdoor power equipment. Briggs and Stratton engines are incorporated into products for both the consumer market and industrial/commercial applications. We are also responsible for the sales and marketing of Briggs and Stratton Power Products including consumer and commercial generators, consumer and commercial power washers; Worx Yard Tools, Dolmar Power Products and many others.

Manage the human resource functions of 17 distribution centers that employ over 3500 associates in 13 States. Provide direction and support to 16 Human Resource Managers and VP/GM’s in both union and non-union facilities. Directly responsible for ADA and FMLA compliance, EEOC position statements and the early return to work program. Lead investigator for all associate concerns that are reported to the Sysco Alert Line system; direct the investigation and resolution of employee relations issues at the distribution center. Work closely with the President, COO and CFO to develop and implement programs that support the company’s mission and vision, increase employee satisfaction and drive efficiency.

Facilitate a Leadership Development Program.

Administer all facets of HR operations in 3-state district supported by 1,500 associates in 14 locations (currently 800 associates in 6 states); included assistance provided to district operations manager, market managers, location managers, north central division credit manager, purchasing manager, finance manager and hourly and salary personnel. Ensure performance of 2 direct reports (currently 1 direct report); supervise 20 safety coordinators responsible for OSHA and DOT compliance.Scope of responsibilities include planning, design and management of policies, procedures and programs relative to staff and management recruiting, orientation and development; consultative support to management and employees; payroll, salary and benefits packages; location health and safety; in-house audits of wage/hour, Workers' Compensation, employment practices, and state/federal health and safety programs

Served as generalist; orchestrated HR operations supporting 70-120 workers daily; evaluated personnel for open positions; informed personnel about temp job functions; delegated responsibilities and ensured performance of 3 administrative and sales staff. Previously served as general manager and sales associate.During tenure as general manager, oversaw location billing between $1.2 million and $1.5 million in sales annually; accountable for sales budgeting and revenue targets in location.Member of initiative indentifying new location in Cincinnati for staffing firm; employed census data, proximity to bus lines and community income levels to narrow potential location to 3 areas (of which one was selected).
