In a few short years I grew that company into a business with multimillion-dollar revenues, due in large part to our reputation for providing exceptional customer service. When I sold the company and moved on, I leveraged the skills I gained—financial planning and P&L management, strategic team building, and process development—to succeed wherever I went. The business world is full of challenge and conflict. I believe people are measured by how they perform under pressure. I teach all of my direct reports the professionalism to handle disagreements with grace and the patience to understand all sides of the issue. Outside of work, I relax by playing golf and volunteering with my family.
