My focus was analog circuit test methods for IOs using built-in-self-test (BIST) techniques. I worked with IO circuit solutions designed by internal groups at Xilinx and externally sourced IP blocks for DDR memory controllers and general purpose IO. I worked on the FPGA and ARM based SoC product lines. I developed test solutions that used both boundary scan and FPGA fabric based circuitry. I worked with ATE specialists to make the total solution cost efficient and appropriate for deployment on Xilinx test platforms. This was achieved by performing RC extraction of Spice netlists, Spice simulations to predict FPGA propagation delays and silicon characterization to measure the FPGA propagation delays.I managed the Irish group, provided technical guidance, and coordinated activities with the IC design, characterization and product engineering groups. I developed custom RC extraction flows and used both automated and manual techniques to reduce the complexity of Spice netlists using custom tools developed internally. Significant simulation efficiency improvements were achieved. For example, setup and hold type simulations that normally took hours to run could be completed in approximately 20 mins. I also developed FPGA designs including BIST ring oscillators to measure the FPGA performance. Show less
