Career Highlights• Panel moderator and lecturerAs a professor of practice at the Perry Center, I travel around the country and hemisphere writing, lecturing, hosting panels, and organizing graduate-level courses on topics relating to international security, human rights, terrorism, rule of law, and political science. I also provide subject matter expertise to the U.S. military and foreign military allies. • Teaching Sabbatical in Santiago, Chile 2017Served as Visiting Professor from National Defense University in Washington DC to theNational Academy of Political and Strategic Studies (La Academia Nacional deEstudios Políticos y Estratégicos, or ANEPE, in Spanish) for the entirety of 2017,completing a fully-funded research-and-writing sabbatical. Taught graduate courses toANEPE students. Deliverables: published one book and five articles.• Editor-in-Chief of Perry Center publications, 2014 – presentCoordinate article submissions, peer reviews, editing, and the production of a half dozenpublications and periodic reports. Responsible for vetting all prospective PerryCenter publications, ensuring that they pass through a peer review or editorial reviewprocess before acceptance for publication; guide the formation of each issue of theSecurity and Defense Studies Review (SDSR), Occasional Papers, Regional Insights,Perspectivas, and other special publications; draft front-matter for each issue; overseesand manages the double-blind peer review process; responsible for maintaining theSDSR Editorial Board; coordinate submissions and selection for the annual PerryPaper contest.• Faculty Advisor for Research Assistants and Interns 2013 – presentServe as senior faculty advisor for the Perry Center research assistants and interns,providing career and academic advice for over 100 undergraduate and graduatestudents. Oversee faculty-intern assignments and coordinate professional developmentlectures and visits to government facilities in Washington DC.
