My goal: To keep facilities and buildings healthy for life. With three decades of experience in the roofing and building enclosure industry, I lead our Building Science team at Cushing Terrell. A critical aspect of each design project, Building Science considers all the factors of a building’s location to address climate and weather impacts as well as incorporate the high-performance materials needed to protect a building and its occupants for the long-term. My experience comprises work for commercial, education, government, industrial, and retail clients, including roof consulting services for more than 60 million square feet of government installations and 40 million square feet of commercial aircraft facilities throughout the United States. For the last 14 years, I have been heavily involved with helping to re-roof and maintain roofing systems for several school districts located throughout the state of Montana. Additionally, I have managed a significant roof maintenance/management program for a developer of high-end shopping centers with locations throughout the United States. The detailed maintenance/management program included yearly inspections, design services, bidding services, and construction administration services for multiple school districts and privately owned businesses. My everyday project responsibilities encompass project management, design, consulting and problem solving, coordinating disciplines, building assessments, cost estimation, construction administration, and quality assurance, as well as schedule, budget, and people management. I bring strong leadership, team building, and communication skills to each project, ensuring a focus on understanding and achieving each client’s goals while coordinating with engineers, architects, contractors, and consultants throughout the design and construction process. When not focused on perfecting roofing and building enclosures, my family — wife Judy and two super smart (soon to be married) daughters — have my full attention, except for the occasional round of golf I can get in.
