During Major League Baseball games, I interpret and implement the rules of baseball as they pertain to decisions made by the official scorer, such as hits vs. errors and other decisions that affect baseball statistics.This involves maintaining a thorough knowledge of the Rules of Major League Baseball, working with a team of other Official Scorers and Major League Baseball staffers to ensure that rules are being implemented correctly and historical precedents are being followed.

I code baseball play-by-play action live from the ballpark and transmit it to headquarters in New York to feed the MLB Gamecast feed that allows fans to watch the progress of a baseball game. This involves working with both teams' media relations personnel to ensure that correct rosters are loaded into the computer system, as well as to watch for player changes, get scoring decisions, and ensure the absolute accuracy of all data transmitted.Additionally, I am also a backup stringer and as of April 2016, a support team member, providing primary support for stats stringers at ballparks. This can include code error resolution, integration with PitchFX and BTS/Trackman systems and other issues related to getting data to MLB Gameday and our partners.

I operate the systems that track the flight of baseballs, from the pitcher's hand to wherever it may land, be it the catcher's mitt or the 20th row of bleachers, with the data ending up on MLB GameDay, television broadcasts, in-stadium signage and numerous other places. The position involves working with both home and away television broadcast producers and directors, MLB stats stringers, technical support staff from Sportvision and ChyronHego and team staff, as well as the ability to quickly identify, troubleshoot and resolve any technical problems that might impact the system's integrity or ability to gather and produce data.

Operate in-stadium clocks per Major League Baseball's directives in order to ensure that games are moving along and broadcasters receive their guaranteed break times. Report on any violations of the timing structure either by players or clubs.

Since October 2012, I have been the spring training PA Announcer for the Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Fall League's Salt River Rafters, both of whom play their home games at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.
