I have a passion for continuous improvement and delivering results. Over 20 years of working in different industries, I understand most objectives can only be realised by bringing together individuals with different skillsets and experiences. The power of a focused team is much greater than the sum of the individuals. I strive to create an environment that empowers individuals and encourages team work.I have knowledge across different areas in IT (network infrastructure, voice, servers, Cloud, IT security, software development, SRE, DevOps) allowing me to be versatile in delivering and maintaining different types of products.SRE is not only the technical skillset. It is a mindset of creativity and pragmatism. Having experience with leading a traditional operations team, I know the limits of trying to use man hours as a basis of calculations. If the reliability of systems depend purely on the number of eyes on it, that will not scale. Now running a multi-disciplined team with SRE mindset changes things drastically. Automation and continuous improvement is the new norm.Being a CISSP allows me to run projects with security baked in at different levels. I can give inputs at initial requirements stage, at design stage or build and handover stage. I can point things out straight away if they don’t seem right. IT Security should never be an afterthought.
