Practice focuses on the representation of emerging technology and life sciences companies as well as venture capital and other firms that invest in those companies. Counsels company clients and investors in a wide variety of projects, including company formations, spin-offs, private and public financings, initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture and other strategic transactions, employee equity incentives, corporate governance matters and SEC reporting and compliance. Works with companies in a variety of industries, including the biotechnology, wireless, hardware, Internet, healthcare, software and telecommunications and other TMT industries. Received his J.D., summa cum laude from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1999, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as Lead Editor of the San Diego Law Review. Completed joint bachelor’s degrees in International Relations and Anthropology, with an emphasis in Latin America, at Stanford University in 1988. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
