About Patrick Young
I am a lifelong entrepreneur and one of the original thinkers in the fintech space, having been active online since the early 1990’s.Via my private advisory business I publish the daily newsletter of the market structure business “Exchange Invest.” We advise on how to build and improve exchanges and market structures as well as helping institutional investors understand the sector. Having written the original bestselling book of fintech “Capital Market Revolution!” (FT Prentice Hall 1999) 20 years ago, I remain a strong advocate for the power of networked digital innovation, including cryptocurrencies and blockchain. Exchange structures sit at the epicentre of this infrastructure whether in legacy centralised or new era decentralised forms.My other books include “New Capital Market Revolution,” “The Promiscuous Investor,” “The Exchange Manifesto,” “Single Stock Futures - A Traders Guide” and the “EI1000 Index” of the world’s most influential figures in market structure worldwide. I also edited “An Intangible Commodity” and “The Gathering Storm.” I have published over 1500 articles including ‘OpEds’ for the likes of AFR, L’Agefi, Boersen Zeitung, Financial Times, The National and the Wall Street Journal amongst others while appearing on network and cable television worldwide. The rest is a bit of a blur albeit - bizarrely - I recall the heady phrase "internationally renowned expert" on historic car racing, wafting through in the Maltese conversation... Heaven knows how I understood that. What is even more remarkable, is that this phrase apparently applied to me...An hour or so later, I was in the commentary tower and didn't look back for some fun years calling the races and delivering insights into motorsport through a historic lens!
