I joined Financial Architects in 1990 after 2 years of apprenticeship at a "traditional financial planning" firm. Similar to every science, a financial architect is focused on identifying, simulating, and verifying WHY traditional financial plans may not reach their full potential. We believe that many traditional and popular money decisions, although well intended, are actually creating undesirable results. Our convictions are based on economic principles that verify that our ideal client (Top 5% of wage earners) will transfer away more money than they will actually accumulate. We believe that our clients should only pay taxes 1X (not 3X) on their money. Critical thinking allows the ability to prove, through simple simulations, that preventing transfers of wealth may create greater results than a high rate of return. Therefore, if one's overall financial objective was to create more money, less risk, with limited resources, we believe that traditional "investment advisors" and popular money decisions may not be the optimal solution.Therefore, we believe that without having a simulated financial model, equipped with the ability to pressure test and measure potential outcomes, one's "financial plan" must rely upon financial projections based on popular opinions, Google advice, good luck and only perfect outcomes. Clients introduced to our financial architectural process say to us, "We do very well for ourselves, why is it that we just cannot get ahead financially....it seems that there are forces at work that continue to take our wealth away!"QUESTION: When will one determine that their financial plan did NOT work out the way they hoped?ANSWER: When it is too late.I earned a B.A. in Economics and Finance from the University of Michigan. The principles of economics and capitalism that I learned on my way to earning my degree are ever-present in the strategies that we implement for our clients.My family and I reside in Brighton, Michigan. I have three children and a daughter-in-law. I have a passion for coaching Hockey as well, my oldest son Cooper is currently in the Philadelphia Flyers organization. I also enjoy spending time with my family at my second home in northern Michigan and I really love mentoring young male athletes to prepare them to be great fathers, co-workers and husbands.
