As a UX Strategist & Lead Designer, I've helped dozens of businesses, large and small, best tell their stories in order reach and serve their target markets. We specialize in the creation of digital products and tools that work to achieve business goals.

Part creative director, part design coach, part program manager, this multi-faceted role centers around one focused mission: prepare Flatiron's 24-week, full-time design immersive design students to earn jobs as UX and UI designers upon completion of the program. Along with facilitating workshops on industry best practices, assessing student work and providing actionable feedback, my role is to serve as the client liaison, emotional guide and mentor.

Served as a UX consultant, researcher & designer with the bulk of my work focusing on workshop creation & facilitation, wireframing, UX/UI design, user interviews & user testing, sketching & whiteboarding, journey mapping, persona creation, project management and more. Designed, implemented and facilitated a robust professional softs skills training program as a vital component of this software development training company’s business model, while also helping run the day-to-day operations of the business.SeedPaths focused on training software developers through a full-time, intensive 8-week boot camp that had a strong emphasis on professional soft skills training wrapped around technical skills building to improve our students' job marketability. We trained 85 developers (between 16-58 years old) between Jan. 2014 and May 2015. Of our grads who sought employment, 91% found jobs within 90 days with salaries ranging from $35,000-75,000 (an overall average increase of 200% to their pre-program salaries). In addition to helping launch the company, my role was the design, development, implementation, facilitation and overall running of the professional development program, in addition to the every day responsibilities tied to running of the academic side of the business, including managing all things tuition related (amounting in over $500,000 in revenue).

Collaborating with local business owners, designed a never-before-attempted program for a 24 year-old nonprofit, then coached young business owners on how to run their ventures.The Entrepreneurial Leaders (EL) program was the top-level program at YouthBiz, where I also served as one of four directors of this educational nonprofit that focuses on entrepreneurship. In the EL program, I mentored, coached, guided and connected youth entrepreneurs with local business owners to help them launch, improve and/or expand their businesses. I provided unique networking and professional development opportunities, including finding industry specific mentors for each youth entrepreneur. The program was customized for each youth business owner to bring them a highly personalized experience.

Planned and implemented business & leadership education both in a public high school setting and in an after-school based program. The mission of YouthBiz is to provide youth with opportunities to control their own lives through business, entrepreneurship and leadership.

Designed, wrote and delivered educational experiences for hundreds of students to improve their literacy and overall life skills while also coaching varsity softball and baseball. I taught English in grades 9-11 at an urban-setting public high school in Aurora, Colo. I specialized in reading intervention and writing instruction. Led classrooms of 15-35 students, including many who spoke English as a second language and had learning challenges. My students had the highest levels of growth on the state test TCAP in reading/writing in the spring of 2012 in a department of over 15 Literacy teachers. During my two season as varsity softball coach, we doubled the win total from the previous two seasons prior to my tenure as coach.

Interviewed hundreds of people, including professional athletes and coaches, to write 3-5 stories per week and served as the sports layout editor for 22,000 circulation newspaper.

Covered Keene (N.H.) area high school and college sports. Also assisted on the sports copy desk assisting with editing & page design for the 12,000 circulation newspaper.
