About Patrick Mcguiness

As an attorney and founding partner at Zlimen & McGuiness, PLLC, I have over 15 years of experience in providing legal services to small and medium sized businesses, with a focus on employment law and contract drafting. I have a strong presence in Minnesota's green industry, where I advise clients on wage and hour law, worker classification, FLSA salary exemptions, and fluctuating work week issues. I also speak regularly to green industry groups nationwide and contribute to various trade publications.In addition to my legal practice, I serve as a director and past chair of the board of directors for Blaze Credit Union, Minnesota Lawyers Mutual Insurance Company, and the Minnesota Nursery & Landscape Association. I enjoy corporate governance work and am open to opportunities to become involved with new boards. I am also an assistant professor in the department of law at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. In the Army Reserve I have served in various roles including as a National Security Law Attorney, Strike Cell Legal Advisor, and as Deputy Director of the Future Concepts Directorate at The Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School.
