In an effort to make liquid metal batteries more efficient for grid-scale storage of renewable energy sources, my task was to design and analyze a more efficient ultrasonic transducer configuration to comprehensively capture global fluid flow patterns present in an operating battery. This included the development of a computational model, design using CAD software, fabrication, and experimentation of the structure.
