I act as liaison on behalf of UAB for the principal investigators/project directors and federal funding agencies. I am responsible for the composition, negotiation and review of Subawards and Subcontracts for compliance with UAB, federal, and sponsor regulations. I advise faculty and staff on highly complex Subaward and Subcontract administration and provide direction and guidance for compliance with grant and contract policies and procedures, budget preparation and presentations in regards to sponsor related activities. I review, prepare, negotiate and monitor complex Subaward and Subcontract modifications to include necessary contract clauses as it relates to Uniform Guidance and sponsor related policy. I review sub-award terms, conditions and Prime/Parent Award Industry related flow down language and identify potentially objectionable terms and conditions to determine the University's position and appropriate language and negotiate objectionable terms with sub- recipients. I am familiar with Fixed-Price, Cost-Reimbursement, Fee-for- Service and Capitation contract types.
