Captain Murphy also previously deployed after 9/11 as Command Judge Advocate in Tuzla, Bosnia (2002) attached to the 25th Infantry Division, as a military and federal prosecutor as a Special Assistant US Attorney in the Southern District of New York (2000-2002) and was an assistant professor at the United States Military Academy at West Point (2000-03) teaching constitutional law.
