Academic graduate student employee and passionate health behavior researcher focusing on multicultural behavioral health practice and training across health professions. Growing up as a first-generation Russian immigrant and the child of two service members across military communities in the U.S. and Germany, I developed a commitment to serving underserved, multicultural populations. In my first social work field practicum, I designed, implemented, and evaluated a motivational interviewing (MI) training for case managers working with incarcerated and unhoused veterans. Today, I co-facilitate MI trainings for graduate students in medical settings, working with future doctors, pharmacists, nurses, psychologists, and social workers. I’m driven by my dedication to addiction recovery, reducing health disparities, and promoting integrated behavioral health practice. Eager to pursue clinical licensure and doctoral studies, I aim to continue fostering culturally relevant, trauma-informed care while advocating for systemic change.
