I am a Computer Engineering graduate from the University of Florida with a focus on software. After graduating, I joined Mindtree Limited as a software engineer. Upon joining, I traveled to Bhubaneswar, India to complete a more than 3 month training boot camp in the .NET track. In this program I learned the fundamentals required to be a full stack developer and sharpened my coding skills. A major part of this program was learning "how to learn", which is useful for my skill set because new software is constantly releasing and changing; I am able to adapt and pick up new languages much easier now. During the COVID 19 Pandemic, I was furloughed with the ability to come back at a later undisclosed date. I took this opportunity to look for a new job, and signed a 2 year contract with Skillstorm working from a client as a software engineer. I currently work on an enterprise team, overseeing communications with an offshore development team working to integrate API changes from an outsourced provider to inhouse. This project has lasted most of my duration with Skillstorm. My day to day varies, from analyzing old code that breaks as a result of current integration changes, analyzing the differences between the API solutions from inhouse and our previous external provider, as well as interacting with client Tech Support through a ticketing system to address new issues. We track bugs and defects using the JIRA platform, and have 2 daily scrum meetings that include Application Team (my current team), SysAdmins, Networking, Database, and other essential teams. Part of my job includes a 7 day rotating oncall schedule, in which I am responsible for production servers at all hours using an application called Pager Duty.I am currently working with Emerson as a software Engineer and very much enjoy my role here and the new challenges that have presented learning opportunities. In addition I was elected the Security Champion representative for my development team and have begun receiving training to implement security practices throughout the software development life cycle. I enjoy practicing CTF in my free time and am always looking to move my career forward.
