Contract No. DE/2020/01 - Yuen Long Effluent Polishing Plant – E&M Works for Sludge Dewatering Building, Administration Building and Renewable Energy Facilities for Stage 1The existing Yuen Long Sewage Treatment Works (YLSTW) serves Yuen Long Town, Yuen Long Industrial Estate and Kam Tin areas with a design capacity of 70,000 m3 per day. Our Project, namely "Yuen Long Effluent Polishing Plant" (YLEPP), is a construction project to increase the treatment capacity of YLSTW within the same footprint.I am responsible for the Process-Mechanical Design, and associated procurements and documentations on both Sludge Dewatering Building and Administration Building, I am also responsible on project coordination and construction programme with RSS.My responsibilities as an Assistant Project Manager comprise:a. Lead Mechanical Team to deliver design and construction under contract requirementb. Coordinate with E&M equipment suppliers to suit project’s requirement, and complies with standard and associated specification;c. Collaboration with colleagues in multi-disciplines to ensure the feasibility and reliability for Sludge Dewatering Building;d. Liaison with RSS, to suit project’s requirement and;e. Ensure operation, installation and maintenance programme and works could be executed adequately.

In-situ Re-provisioning of Sha Tin Water Treatment Works – South Works – Advance Works and Main Works (1/WSD/19)The project is to increase the treatment capacity of the South Works of Sha Tin water treatment works from 364 000 cubic metres per day to 550 000 cubic metres per day, and to re-provision the aged water treatment facilities of the South Works.I am responsible for the Process-Mechanical Design, and associated procurements and documentations on South Work Ozone Building, I am also responsible on project coordination especially in Construction Sequence, Equipment FAT, Delivery schedule and Construction programme with RSS and Main ContractorMy responsibilities as a Senior Project Engineer comprise:a. Coordinate with E&M equipment suppliers to suit project’s requirement, and complies with standard and associated specification;b. Collaboration with colleagues in multi-disciplines to ensure the feasibility and reliability for South Work Ozone Building;c. Liaison with RSS, to suit project’s requirement and;d. With my experience in water and wastewater industry, the key project below as one of my responsibilities in ARUP:'Ngau Tam Mei Water Treatment Work and Primary Service Reservoir Extension - Investigation, Design and Construction'This project involved existing treatment upgrade of the NTM WTW from 230 Mega Litre per Day (MLD) to potentially 580 MLD. I am responsible for the overall Process-E&M Design, the associated plant upgrades and purpose the optimized operation and maintenance strategy to my client. To ensure the upgrades could be facilitated for the potential development, I have initiated three of the critical deliverables but not limited of this project: Asset Condition investigation, On-site Substation upgrade plan and development of layout design (E&M) etc.My responsibilities as a Project Engineer comprise:a. Propose the suitable E&M equipment to suit project’s requirement;b. Collaboration with colleagues in multi-disciplines to ensure project’s feasibility and reliability;c. Liaison with clients for programme monitoring;d. Design and develop appropriate operation and installation arrangements for all associated E&M equipment;

As an AECOM's Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE), I am currently participating as a supervising engineer in a construction project "EP/SP/66/12 - Integrated Waste Management Facilities, Phase 1" for the Environmental Protection Department of the Government of Hong Kong. I stationed at the project site office and reported to the Senior Resident Engineer (SRE).The project involved an advanced thermal incineration plant with design capacity of 3,000 tonnes per day (tpd) of municipal solid waste (MSW), and a mechanical sorting and recycling plant with design capacity of 200 tonnes per day.My responsibilities as an Assistant Resident Engineer comprise:1. Review and comment on contractor's design submission, which included design calculations, drawings, equipment and material proposals and method statements etc.2.Preparation on minutes for meeting with contractor on regular progress, technical matters.3. Participate with safety officers on site safety and environmental condition and hazard prevention and mitigation measures.

I joined the E&M team of the Urban & Water Development department in the Hong Kong office as a Graduate Engineer at 2015. I started working under supervision of the senior engineers and gained tremendous amounts of work experience and technical knowledge which allowed to work and complete tasks independently. During the period as a Graduate Engineer, I have participated in several water and sewage consultancy projects from feasibility study to design and onward, There are three notable government projects among them:I. CE 30/2014(DS) - Relocation of Sha Tin Sewage Treatment Works to Caverns: Caverns and Sewage Treatment Works - Investigation, Design and Construction.To support social and economic development in Hong Kong, there is a pressing need to optimize the supply of land, this project is implemented so as to release the existing site (~28 Hectares) for other uses.II. CE 09/2014(DS) - Shek Wu Hui Sewage Treatment Works - Further Expansion Phases 1A and 1B - Design and Construction.The project involved an upgrade of a major municipal sewage treatment plant which was and will be serving citizens of the North-East N.T Hong Kong.III. CE 03/2015(DS) - Yuen Long Effluent Polishing Plant - Investigation, Design and Construction.The project involved an upgrade on a Sewage Treatment Works (STW) which has been commissioned since 1984, other than commissioning an advanced STW there are also decommissioning the existing facilities with demolition.My responsibilities as a Graduate Engineer comprise:1. Development of layout design , design calculations and control philosophy for mechanical systems.2. Select and apply appropriate process E&M technologies/equipment in various projects.3. Preparation of technical proposals, design reports, technical drawings and particular specifications.4. Review, Evaluation and Supervision on project deliverable.5. Encounter projects requirement and constraints with other disciplines, client and government departments.
