Primary emphasis is on customer facing activities in order to maximize the team's commercial impact. Additional responsibilities include marketing and business development support.

Responsible for global sales and commercial operations of the business unit. Elanco's nutritional health team focuses on providing non-medicated, feed delivered, animal health products to the food animal industry.

Responsible for strategic account management, direct sales and the management of account teams. This poultry industry focused role included broiler, layer and turkey accounts in all US geographies.

Responsible for the successful launch of an animal feed additive portfolio across the poultry, swine and dairy industries. Vetagro and its products had no exposure to the United States market prior to this launch. Therefore, successful launch included regulatory approval, pre-market studies, customer focused trials, logistics design, marketing and sales.

Monitors legislative activity in twenty five states. Ensures the organization’s awareness of state legislation and how it impacts company activities. Plans, coordinates, and imple-ments strategies to promote Tyson’s point of view to state legislators. Monitors potential changes to Tyson’s regulatory landscape at both the state and federal level. Coordinates a response to various agencies’ actions when appropriate with the goal of influencing the outcome of regulatory language in a favorable manner. Additional responsibilities include acting as the spokesperson for the company on food animal production issues and serving as a testifying witness in multiple litigation matters dealing with poultry production.

Led a department that provided technical information and service support to Tyson team members in their effort to produce a cost competitive, high quality, and marketable prod-uct. Specifically this department, which consisted of forty individuals and a $5,000,000 yearly budget, was responsible for veterinary, nutritional, hatchery, and feed milling ser-vices for the entire company. In this position I also guided our research efforts to optimize nutrition and feeding programs, breed choices, and management practices. Additional re-sponsibilities included working cooperatively with our legal team in the area of grower contracts. This work involved driving the premium house initiative, coordinating the an-nual review of grower pay, and maintaining a relationship with Packers and Stockyards.

Territory included seven complexes in the southeastern United States. Approximately eighty percent of time devoted to field work. Involved in broiler and breeder growout, live haul, hatchery, feed milling and formulation, and processing plant decisions. Emphasis placed on implementing management practices that have proven successful over many years. Acquired a thorough understanding of Agri Stats, Inc. and utilized its reports in daily management decisions. Developed a working knowledge of the economic realities that drive the company and the industry through participation in quarterly business meetings.

Responsible for the health of all domestic production flocks. Provided technical service to assist customers in solving health related problems. Managed quality control laboratories and supervised a technician in each production area. Designed and implemented quality control programs for domestic production units and hatcheries. Conducted research trials aimed at improving the health and production of flocks. Critically evaluated biosecurity of two hatcheries and four production units and instituted an improved program in these areas.
